The Catbird
Catbird Ridge B&B Boutique Accommodation is named after the Catbird, dumetella carolinensis, an elegant but visually-elusive bird who is part of the Mockingbird family.
This migratory songbird enthusiastically copies the sounds of neighbouring birds. His song is a jumbled imitation of red finches, robins, grosbeaks, sparrows and in fact, anything that flies!
The male is very territorial and tenacious about choosing his locale. He is often the first bird to start singing, sometimes before the sun rises.
